Welcome to your June eZine.

Meet Chris Alvarez, our Marketing & Social Media Intern. He currently is a student at the University of Iowa studying graphic design. 

Chris loves working both digitally and on paper, and focuses on in-line work and 3-dimensional art.

Leading in a Time of Crisis Quiz Explored Further:

  1. A leader leads best ignoring the anxiety people feel so it isn’t magnified.

    False. Acknowledging and validating how people feel is vital. Ignoring these things magnify anxiety.
  2. If there are no guarantees as to how things will play out in the future, a leader is best to say that.
    True. Uncertainty and ambiguity are more harmful than the truth.
  3. The leader spending too much time discussing what people have lost in a crisis prevents helping them see the “new normal” and creating a new starting line.
    True. People can fixate on the vacation or 401 loss, which prevents them from starting again and being effective.
  4. Leaders know too much urgency is not an ally in times of crisis.
    False. Urgency helps people mobilize around what must be done.
  5. Engaging the team and others in how to address the threats to business in a time of crisis will create better ideas than the leader may come up with on their own.
    True. A leaders people are their opportunity scouts. Their ideas for how to weather the storm and make it through pulls everyone together around recovery.
